Salary: D3 (P293 652 - P323 748) per annum
Leave: 30 working days per annum

Qualifications: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized university.
Experience: Four (4) years' experience in investigating maladministration or in the legal field.
Main Purpose of the Job:
To investigate moderately complex cases of maladministration and violation of human rights.
Summary of Duties
• Investigates moderately complex cases of maladministration & human rights violations
• Consults complainants and makes appropriate responses
• Directs any person to furnish information either orally, in writing, on affidavit, on oath, and/ or directs any person to produce any document in his/her possession or control which has a bearing on the matter being investigated.
• Attends and examines witnesses.
• Recommends remedial action to Ministries/Departments to rectify injustice arising from maladministration
• Mediates to facilitate amicable resolution of complaints
• Conducts public education awareness campaigns on the role and functions of the Ombudsman.
• Generates legal opinions on moderately complex and sensitive specific subjects for the Ombudsman.
• Audits supervisees' investigation files
• Recommends closure of files
• Recommends issuance of subpoena to Principal Legal Investigator
