Core Responsibilities

•
- Provide blasting technical support to the customer •
- Drive and promote safe and appropriate use of Explosives at all times •
- Assist Senior Technical Officer in conducting technical projects, new business projects, and all value add projects •
- Generating Technical Post Blast analysis and reports •
- Conduct product conversions and introductions where applicable •
- Conduct research and generate recommendations to customers for improved and safe blasting practices •
- Assist Senior Technical Officer to communicate and interpret the blast design data to customer and ensure competent operation of the blasting tools •
- Liaise with the customer on relevant technical issues •
- Assist Senior Technical Officer to conduct technically related training and occasional refreshers to the customer for safe and efficient use of explosives •
- Attend to customer complaints, problems and issues relating to quality and performance of the products •
- Directors: M. van den Berg (Chairperson), H. Jansen Van Rensburg (Managing Director), T. Zavahir (Finance Director) •
- Product Quality management for the business •
- Validate explosives stock records •
- Product demand forecast preparation •
- Perform relevant SAP ECC roles •
- Assist the Site Manager to manage the World Class system implementation and its application to his area of responsibility and constantly strive towards continuous improvement •
- Assist Management in implementing company values •
- Ensure that all Standards relating to explosives and their application and quality are adhered to at all times and regularly audited

- At least a Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or Mining related discipline • At least 3 years' experience in an Explosives Handling Open pit Mining environment, two (2) of which were at a similar or higher role •
- Strong blasting technical skills •
- Be in possession of a valid Class B driver's License •
- Be a Botswana Citizen •
- Have computer skills •
- Be in possession of a valid Open Pit Blasting Licence

- Must be fluent in both Setswana and English •
- Good understanding of the Explosives Act and, the Mines, Quarries, Works and Machinery Act (MQWM) and other relevant legislative requirements •
