Core Responsibilities

•
• SHEQ recognition and compliance
•
• On-the-bench blast preparation and explosives quality check duties
•
• Loading and off-loading of explosives at the magazines and on-bench
•
• Housekeeping duties for the plant, explosives magazines and vehicles as required by company procedures
•
• Adhering to all safety procedures as per the company rules and regulations ■ Assisting the Blaster with all the blasting operations duties
•
• Blast pattern demarcation
•
• Housekeeping on-bench, in explosives vehicles and in and around the magazines
•
• Safe keeping of blasting equipment and tools

Qualifications, Experience and Skills Requirements The incumbent should have the following:

•
• At least a Cambridge O' Level/ BGCE certificate or equivalent
•
• At least two years' experience in a Prime, Load, Tie and Shoot (PLTS) Open Pit environment • Valid Class B Driver's License
•
• Possession of Class C Driver's licence is an added advantage
•
• Valid Open Pit Blasting Licence
•
• Botswana Citizen
•
• Must be fluent in both Setswana and English
•
• Knowledge of and experience in AECI products is an added advantage
•
• Experience in open pit blasting
