OKAVANGO SUB-DISTRICT COUNCIL - Gumare, Botswana

The Okavango Sub District Council is a local authority of the North West District Council of the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development; Republic of Botswana. It is tasked with improving life for the people of the Okavango through effective and efficient delivery of basic infrastructure and social services in partnership with stakeholders.

The Sub District is 32+ villages; Gudigwa, Beetshaa, Eretsha, Gunotsoga, Seronga, Mogotho, Ngarangi, Thikondomboro, Tovere, Kaputura, Kaudxwi, Muhembo, Shakawe, Gani, Chukumuchu, Tsodilo, Nxamasere, Qhaoga, Shamutjima, Kajaja, Sepopa, Ikoga, Etsha13, Etsha6, Etsha1, Tubu, Gumare, Nokaneng, Habu, Qangwa, and Xaixai. Of these villages, Xaixai, Qangwa, Tovere, Kaputura, Gudigwa, and Shayikarawe are RADP villages. There are other smaller

places, like Thamachaa, Divuyu, Xaudum, Dxhao, Ndorotsha, Teekae and others; spanning over two constituencies: the Okavango Constituency and Part of the Ngami Constituency.

It is an 18 Strong team of Councillors led by Hon. Mbahahauka Anderson Kambimba and Hon. Samson Kavepukua Mauano as Chairman and Deputy Chairman respectively. The administrative wing is headed by Masaoko Augustine Katorah the Senior Assistant Council Secretary assisted by Pedzani Selwana Mahama the Assistant Council Secretary.
